GE GFSS2HCYCSS Condenser and Freezer Fans Running All The Time

Recommended Posts

I have a GE GFSS2HCYCSS that the condenser and freezer fans run constant! I have unplugged the unit and cleaned the condenser, fan and evaporator drain tube. My temps seem to be good freezer is around 5 degrees fridge is 38 degrees. I have turned the unit off and let it sit for over a hour and the fans continue to run. I can hear the compressor come on like normal. My ice will melt and refreeze into one big clump. Thoughts? Suggestions?

How long has it been doing this?

Did the ice melt and refreeze before you unplugged it?

It has been doing this for a few days now! The ice is fine all day then the next day it is one big chunk. It’s almost like the door is being left open or a bad seal but it’s not! I have checked the seals on all the doors they all look good!

Yes it was doing this before I unplugged it.

On the schematic for this model looks like both condenser and evaporator motors get 12VDC supplied at the same time from J2-3 and J2-8 connectors directly off the main board, so I would suspect the board is faulty...

I put a board in it today and it fixed it! I could see where the board was burned up!
