Hi. I have an LG Electric dryer, model number DLEX8000V with a control panel that is not lighting up.

Since the control panel is not responding, I can't put the dryer into diagnostic mode.

The drum light comes on when the door is opened, but the dryer does nothing else.

I hear a faint musical tone when I push the Power button, but the control panel does not illuminate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you are having an ecu  problem if your not able to get into diagnostics. But I would check for proper voltage first. Test  the incoming voltage with your meter. L1 and L2 separate readings at each leg should be 120 volt readings.   Combined L1 and L2 readings at both legs at the same time should  be 240 V .  If readings are good and done proper, you need to check both L1 and L2 voltages coming into the ECU  and motor. You may have just only lost L1 or L2 line voltage somewhere along the line.  But as mentioned since your not even able to get into diagnostics it is looking more towards a bad ECU.  Good luck
