HI

The bake element was severed so I replaced it. The oven baked once and now it will not heat. All other elements work so I'm at a loss?

Double check your connectors make sure they didn’t come loose.

Other than that need to test for voltage at element.

Thanks, I should have said that I did check the element connectors. I don't have a voltmeter, I'll try to get one.

We need to determine if control is sending voltage to element.

Will a non contact voltage tester work?

Posted

no you need to see the voltage that is reading

Noncontact is poor subsitute. You likely have a bad control. But only a meter will tell

OK, I think it's time to call a pro. I replaced the element for a friend but I don't want to screw it up. thanks

One more thing, this range has an error code function but we have not seen one. Does that tell me anything? Do I have to do something to get one to display or do the just show up?

They usually just throw an error, regardless need to verify any errors by taking voltage readings...

Roger, I was just trying to figure out why we didn't see an error code. We unplugged the unit but that didn't seem to do anything.

If element new and connections good this is likely your issue and can be returned if not...
