Frigidaire Washer/Drier Combo Help! (second post)

Recommended Posts

Hello experts,

First, thank you so much for taking your time to answer me. I am writing this second post because I believe I have located the issue with my Washer/Drier Combo. Initially, I thought the problem was linked to the washer's timer, however, after doing some tests today, I realized it may be the electrical drain pump. I tested the lid switch and is working properly, however, when the timer activates the drain step, it looks like the drain pump doesn't open an internal valve to drain the water. The pump makes noise but the water don't flow and don't drain. In fact, this was happening some times recently and after trying going back with the timer manually, it could open one of the times. I am not sure if there is a valve inside the drain pump or somewhere else and this is my question. ?? The valve that allows the water to drain is having problems, sometimes opens, sometimes not. Please, clarify me about where is the valve. I have located a new electrical drain pump (part# AP5684706) and I am ready to buy it as soon as I be clear about it. I have children and need the washer asap but can not pay a technician now.

Thank you so much for any help.!

There is no reason to start a second post for the same thing. You could have added this information to the original post.

If pump is running and not pumping then it is either booked or bad. The pump could be blocked by something such as a sock. Pull pump off and look inside of it.

There is no drain valve, the timer sends power to the drain pump and it either drains or doesn't. Get the water out and take off the tub to pump hose, then remove the pump's discharge hose and check for blockages. Also inspect the drain pump inside for any blockages or foreign matter. Also if the lid switch is starting to fail it could stop the cycle as you described.
