Hello,

Experiencing trouble with a GE wall oven. The bake element came on by itself and got to a very high temp before it was realized and circuit breaker was turned off. I thought it was pretty straight forward that the control board relay must have failed and sent power to element. I changed board and am experiencing same issue. I do notice the bake element has some sort of break it in that I presume was caused by being in so long. I am reading online that this may be caused by a shorted touchpad which is now no longer available. Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar.

Thanks

Rick

Turn off the breaker. Pull your bake element. Check for continuity between each terminal to the element's outer shell. In other words, check to see if your element is grounded. If so, replace the element.
