whirlpool fridge problem

I have a whirlpool gold refrigerator. The problem is that everything works fine except the temp down button. The fast cool button  works to get the temp down to keep the food at the proper temp just not the normal temp down button. Could it be the membrane switch of should I be looking at something else. any help would be appreciated. the model number is GI5SVAXVL01

You are correct. If some buttons don’t function and others work. These style touchpads have a high failure rate.
