Frigidaire freezer model FFU14F7HWJ

Hello,

I have an upright Frigidaire freeezer that the door alarm continues to go off even when door is closed. From other posts it looks like a control board issue so I replaced that with same result. I even disabled door switch in case there was an intermittent problem with it. This is a very basic low end unit. Not sure what else can possibly cause this. If anyone else has ran into this I’d appreciate any help.

Thanks

Rick

check the door switch. I have had to replace a couple of these.

is the door actually closing the switch? Put phone on video, place it in freezer, shut door, count to 10, take phone out & watch video to see if light went out. Could be touching it but not closing switch all the way or as David C said:

Another very important question, have you replaced the battery yet?

There is a low battery alert alarm on these also that keeps chirping when the battery is low.

You said you changed the board and had same problem, so hopefully it may just be a low battery.

Looked up your model before finishing this post and I don't see any where in the user manual, parts list or wiring diagram so it looks like yours doesn't have the battery backup for control, (just in case, pull the kick plate and see if any 9 volt square battery/holder is somewhere behind it).

I pulled wires off of the light switch thinking that was a way to test switch. Alarm still came on. (If wires are pulled off board should think door is closed?).

Best to test the switch with an ohm meter to see if it is working.

I believe the swich is :backwards. Needs to be jumpered for control to  be satisfied,

i have had this issue and it was a loose/cooroded connector to door switch under neath. On righthand side i believe.
