LG DLG3744W dryer roller noise

Have a DLG3744W dryer with a worn out drum roller

I've identified the roller at fault -- no lubricant, inside sleeve of roller wheel scored throughout, lots of play when mounted on the roller shaft.

My question is -- should I replace roller + shaft?  or just roller?

I experimented by putting a good roller on the shaft where the bad roller was and difference in 'play' is noticeable -- there wasn't much of any and though I know it is self-lubricating/factory lubricated, I imagine that once it's been in use that maybe the lubricant might eliminate a little bit of the play.

There is certainly just a tad more play on the bad roller's shaft than when compared to the good roller + good roller shaft.

Also have seen it is recommended to replace both at same time.

Thoughts?

TIA

Replace the wheels and the shafts in the back. There is a little more friction on the back side rollers than the others. Also , not that this is the case with you but remember if you overload your washer then you are also overloading the dryer.  If that’s the case lighten the loads and you will get more life out of both machines

When in doubt replace them while it’s torn apart anyway.
