Recently replaced control panel. Everything works well, except the detergent dispenser won't. The lid won't lock down, can't put a soap tablet in it.

Usually...the locking latch/tab...has detergent build-up on and around it.

Thoroughly clean latch/lock area with a water and a stiff brush.

If the accumulation is hard and difficult to remove...may be calcium deposit.

Use CLR or similar product.

Aarrrggghh, did it again. Sorry.

The model number is LDF7932ST, serial number: 905KWHX00849

No build-up on the door or the groves it slides in, but the little white rod that actuates the release seemed a little stuck. Worked it back and forth with the tip of a screwdriver after wetting it. Everything is now working fine.

I did learn from somewhere on the how-to sites that wetting the soap tab with cooking oil will allow it to slip out of the detergent release  holder with ease. It won't stick and turn to mush, and not be released into the washer. Works well.

Thanks for your help.
