I have a Maytag top mount fridge model MRT711BZDH00 that continually iced up in the air channel causing freezer to get too cold and temperature in fridge to go up. I thought I had an evaporator fan issue and replaced the fan. A couple of days later the channel ice up again. I defrosted channel and confirmed fan was blowing correctly. After a few days the channel was again iced up. I’m wondering if I could have a problem with thermistor that sits on evaporator coil? Seems like a basic fridge to be having this continued issue? Just wondering if anyone else has run across this issue.

Thanks

Rick

Could be defrost system failure or clogged evaporator drain.

Drain good. Evaporator clear of frost. These newer fridges are awful

Do a temp recorder and see what the freezer is running at for a couple of days.

Also look for warm air leaks ... can be fresh food or freezer.  Make sure Condenser fan is running and condenser is clear (excessive run time due to condenser plugged.)
