Maytag MVWB765FW Washer - Whistling Sound Agitatingduring

Recommended Posts

We have a MAYTAG top load model MVWB765, and it just started to make a noticeable but not loud whistling sound when agitating. Enough to be annoying.

The whistling sound frequency varies based on how fast the agitator is moving. (I have audio clip but dont see how can attach?!?! ANY HELP HERE?)

It has not gotten worse (or better) over two loads.

Since it never made this sound before I'm concerned it might be a warning something more serious is developing.

Any suggestions gurus????? Appreciated in advance, thanks.

Tom O.

to clarify in re-reading, by frequency, i mean that the whistling is in sync with how fast the agitator is going back and forth. Not the frequency of the tone itself. Same pitch.

Again if anyone can clue me as to how to attach the sound clip, worth a thousand words! Thanks folks.
