MVWC415EW1 Maytag Centennial slinging oil

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have a 2 year old Maytag Centennial washer that is leaking oil. A quick google says the transmission is bad and unserviceable, therefore beyond the value of the machine. I am wondering if this is true. I am trying to determine if I should invest in repair, or go for the craigslist Speed Queen for $250, 2018 model. I've heard the 2018 model is very different than the previous Speed Queen top loaders, and not in a good way. I hate the idea of tossing a 2 year old machine though, too. Thoughts?? Please & Thank You!

Even the new speed queen is well worth 250 !   It will be way better than what you have

Those machines are on sale for $399 at times, average life span 2-7 years.

Yours is toast.

If someone is selling a SQ for $250, I hope you realize there is a reason it’s so cheap.

Buyer beware

yep , I can't imagine why someone would just want that. would be interesting to know the reason. the cheapest undamaged 2018  speedqueen sells for 899, and can't be much over 7 months old .  I guess they could just absolutely hate it , but I still would ask more than that.
