Alright, so my GE fridge worked fine for almost 2 months and now seems to be an issue with motherboard.

No fans are running and compressor isn't kicking in either. But lights inside fridge/freezer do work and dispenser light is flickering and nothing is being displayed for temperature control section inside the fridge side.

So far, my testing is indication an issue with motherboard. Don't see any burn marks or anything, could it possibly be '2' capacitors on the motherboard causing this issue? Thanks for any help and advice.

If you see the  capacitors bulging or leaking that is sure sign that is bad.

Does anyone know if I can test the components on the control board?

Symptoms are:

Compressor and none of the fans running, dispenser lights flickering and temperature control is showing up as blank. Tested main board for voltage and it's showing up bad(low DC voltage). Hearing very faint click from the motherboard. Here are some images with some burn marks, highlighted in picts?

I replaced with a new motherboard and still fridge is showing similar bhevaior and making a hissing(mouse) like sound from the control board area.

Here's the recording of it: https://clyp.it/hzvso0lo

Any thoughts what it can be? Thanks for the help :)

Probably have a bad evaporator fan motor taking out your board.

Thank you, that's exactly right. I just unplugged J2 connector and fridge is acting completely normal, all lights showing up, so as compressor fan and compressor. Dispenser is working too.

Does it mean evaporator fan motor is short and causing all of this issue? If so, will go ahead and replace it.

Could I have caused any damage on new board when I plugged back in and was checking to see if fridge comes back or should be fine? Thanks for the help.

Possibly if fan is bad, Look for more burn marks

I have ordered a new fan motor, will test after replacing with a new one and then see what happens.

Can I test existing motor using DVM? To see if there's a short?

Have a question for evaporator fan motor replacement, in case of my particular model all wires are clumped together and there are 3 connectors on motor bracket. Do I have to cut the wires for fan motor and then install it accordingly? It seems like, I can't remove the connector where I can solder/connect wires outside the freezer. Is there a trick to it?

Hard to tell from image but looks like they are just taped together untape and replace fan and it’s harness.

The wr60x10074 evaporator fan comes with the thermistor. Makes installing so much easier.

A bad evaporator fan will burn 2 resistors on the motherboard. Not capacitors.

Actually one of the resistor is slightly of dark color and an IC next to it is burnt, hence replaced it with a new motherboard.

I think, I might order wr60x10074 because it'll make the life a lot easier, as @Jedi Appliance Guy has stated.

I have replaced motherboard and bad evaporator fan motor, things are looking much better now and fridge is running well.

Should I replace thermistors as a preventative or leave them as -is?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, or fix it till it is.
