GE Fridge PSS26MGPA BB - Door Light Switch Breaking

Recommended Posts

Posted

The thin plastic frame edging around my fridge door light switch (front inside, right wall near the bottom) is broken at the bottom. So, the bottom edge of the switch assembly has pushed itself inside the fridge wall a little and the top edge has popped out a bit - now looking a bit diagonal. Still works, but eventually the whole rest of the thing will crack and then who knows where it will wind up? Can you tell me if I can change this completely from inside the fridge compartment by prying the old one out, switching wires to a new switch and pushing the new one in? That is, a 2 minute repair. Or - do I have to take all sorts of major stuff off to do this?

If it's simple enough, can you send me a link to the part number so I may purchase one and have a life free of refrigerator darkness?

Humble Thanks,

-Bill
