I've replaced the filter and it no longer has felt around the edges as the original one did.. and lint builds up quickly in the bottom of the trap.  I have to dig it out at least once a month. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?  I remove and clean the filter after every load.

What part number did you replace. Can you send photo of it?

I see your issue. I can’t find that felt seal anywhere.

Can you take it from old one and glue it into place?

Do you have any insight?

Older LG dryers had the felt seal around the perimeter of the lint filter.

Newer models do not.

It’s just a very poor design....I now dig the lint out at least once a month.  My daughter has a similar dryer and it has the same issue, so I clean every time I visit.
