I have an LG tromm washing machine that shows an “OE” code halfway through a wash cycle. It was draining slowly, so I pulled the coin trap & it was plugged with hair etc. So I cleaned it out and had the same problem. So next, I completely removed the drain hose from the pump and found it was partially clogged (50%?) so I soaked it with drain cleaner overnight and rinsed it out and it cleared right up. I ran the machine and it drains excellent now, (seems to be full flow out of the drain tube) and the washer appears to be emptied, but I’m still getting the same “OE” code?? I don’t think it’s the pump, as it’s quiet & seems to be producing plenty of flow...? Any suggestions why this code is still coming up?

If pump working then I’d check pressure hose, because it’s like the board doesn’t know the tub is empty. Be sure you can blow through it and make sure the port where it attaches to tub if clear of debris.

Replace Drain Motor...running slow.

Typically lasts 5 years.

Huh. Only 5 years for a pump? Well I’ll give that a shot. I guess the pump could have been overworked from trying to push through the clog/restrictions for too long as well...? I’ll also check the other hoses for obstructions when I get it apart again. Seems to be flowing lots of water, but maybe less than when new? Thank you for your replies. Much appreciated! I’ll let you know what I find

Hi Icadieux, sometimes the impeller will strip out where it attaches to the motor shaft.  Can drive tech nuts, as sometimes it slips and sometimes it don't.  Agggggh    Good luck.  I have been away from the job for a few years, but perhaps if a google search tells you how to put it in diagnostic, you can watch the waterlevel readout as it fills and drains, if that tests OK and the code persists with clear hoses and wall drain (vented OK too!), then it probably is the pump.

Well, I pulled it apart and replaced the drain pump today. The impeller shaft on the old pump had lots of play in it compared to the new one.  Seems to have done the trick. No more codes! 

It doesn’t appear to have any more flow than before (it must though?) but it definitely is quieter! Thanks for the help guys.
