You could possibly have a bad dispenser control board .    " Before you decided to shut off the ice production "  was the ice maker working fine and producing ice and shutting off automatically when the ice bucket was filled and the ice maker was working just fine ?  or were you shutting it off  because you felt it was not working correctly ?  explain why you are needing to shut off the ice making process.    Also  It sounds like you are saying that when you select the ice off pad at the display, the display illuminates and the off mode is illuminated and after that you can still hear the ice maker harvesting ice and still producing ice in the bucket.  Is this what is exactly happening .

Are you sure the icemaker is running? There is a fan in the ice room to keep it at the proper temperature to keep ice so it doesn't melt.

Reason why iam saying that cus.I see ice buildup right behind the icemaker evaporator on the back of the refrigerator wall.also I hear my compressor at rear bottom of it keeps running

l think now iam getting what you are trying to explain.evaporator fan and evaporator probably shouldn't turn off.just to keep the ice in the bin from melting.

So iam guessing my defrost heater isnot working due to the bad  defrost thermostat in the icemaker..

What Iam actually hearing is the evaporator fan running in the way back behind the bin.

I would consider getting yourself someone to look at your refrigerator who is qualified to look at your situation with your icemaking process. You sound a little unsure of what is actually going on with the fridge. This is just my opinion and for what its worth . You have a sears refrigerator model # which is actually manufactured by frigidaire.  You need to get a tech in your area and make sure they have had experience with frigidaire refrigerator ice box issues. Frigidaire has had many problems with their ice making part of certain refrigerator models. The issue your having with the ice compartment and machine can be a little more complicated than you think.  It is alot for you to try and fix on your own when it comes to certain frigidaire ice box issues.  Hopefully it will be someone who has been approoved to do warranty work for frigidaire refrigerators and will also have access to the right technical information for you.   Please get back to this site with a report on what the repair was on your fridge.  good luck

Report the sweating on the back of the cabinet to Frigidaire customer service. They may cover that repair even though it's not under warranty anymore. It needs the big insulation blanket and an air handler kit.

So I opened up the ice maker and at back I found the evaporator, defrost thermostat and defrost heater.

I tested the thermostat with the multimeter for continuity when it was cold.it read 0.8 .and no changeswhen it was hot.but the heater when tested displayed 120-150.which is high number so iam suspecting the defrost heater gas gone bad

I am suspecting you need the air handler kit.

We have  moved it in the garageq  where it's not connected  to water source.we never thought of the icemaker until recently  we noticed ice buildup right behind  the icemaker on the back side of the refrigerator, that's only when we tried to off the icemaker, but it seems like it wont stop .i see the fan running  even though  the switch  on control pad is illuminated  red.

So I ended  up swapping  the defrost thermostat  in the ice maker evaporator first. Now I see the refrigerator  is going in defrost  mode again. I am guessing  it fixed the problem.
