Spilled liquid in touchscreen Electrolux EW30EW55GS7

We have the above wall oven. Our microwave is directly above it. Sunday, I went to pull a bowl full of partially cooked prepackaged seasoned rice and spilled it all down the front of the oven. Some liquid went behind the touch panel. Nothing was working, so I turned off the breaker to let it dry. Today, I turned it on, and everything appears normal. I removed the assembly to look inside. The touchscreen is molded into the back of the trim and the assembly costs $1200!

i removed the printed circuit board which did not appear to have any residue. I’m wondering if I should leave well enough alone or attempt to get out any residue by pouring some 91% isopropyl alcohol into touchscreen assembly and dry with hair dryer. My concern is the salty water that dripped in could eventually corrode things. But I certainly don’t want to ruin anything.

The assembly part number is 318280427. Thanks

Dave

I would leave it alone. If you don’t it could cost you $1200.00. Yes it could cause potential problems in the future but messing with it could cause problems right now.  Just decide if the risk is worth the reward.

Yeah. Thanks. I agree. Ran it through its paces, and it seems fine. We will be redoing kitchen in next few years anyway. Should I leave breaker off if we are going away? I don’t know if there is a chance oven could start on its own if touchscreen got weird.
