GE Dishwasher (model GDT695SMJ2ES) humming noise after draining

My 14 month old GE Dishwasher, model GDT695SMJ2ES, started making a humming noise after draining.  I can see the water draining by looking into the garbage disposal and there is no noise when draining.  The noise starts when the water stops draining and continues for about a minute. If I open the door when it's making the noise, there is no water in the tub, so I don't think it's a jammed pump.  It seems like it's dry pumping.  Is there a sensor so the dishwasher knows it's done pumping?  Your help is much appreciated.

No, the pump-out is timed. Drain pumps will always make a different sound when it's pumped all the water it can; as a matter of fact, I use that sound change to determine when the tub is empty when diagnosing dishwashers. There is a chance that maybe you didn't notice it before. If something changed, it could be that the pump now has something resting against it or it may be resting on the floor; it could be that the pump is going bad. It might be worth a look behind the toe panel of the machine.

Thanks for your reply.  The noise is new.  Before we could barely hear the dishwasher, now we can hear it upstairs.  I did take off the toe panel and held onto the pump when it was making the noise, but it didn't change the noise.  Since it drains fine, I'm not thinking there is anything stuck in the pump.  What do you think?

Pull the spray arm off and get down into the sump area and check the drain inlet for a foreign object. I’ve seen plastic get stuck around dishwasher intakes that don’t necessarily impact drainage but could cause other issues.

Thanks for your reply.  I didn't find anything in the sump area.  I'm going to look at the pump.
