Kenmore side by side 106.55542400 temp adjustment needed

i just purchased a used Kenmore side by side fridge.  after plugging it in the ice maker stopped.  i leveled the front with the nut adjustment for each wheel and gave it a hard reset by unplugging it.  The ice maker kicked in in 4 hours and we had ice again.  my problem is both the freezer and fridge are running warm on the low end of the gauge.  What is the proper dial setting for each so that each compartment remains cold?  please advise.  i don't have any money to buy a new one.

If your unit isn’t 0 in freezer and 38 in refrigerator at mid point settings or if digital doesn’t get to those set temperatures there is something wrong.

Being that it’s used it could be anything

If compressor is running and you have no frost buildup in freezer and it’s not getting to temperature it’s likely a sealed system problem not worth fixing.

Used refrigerators are high risk purchases in my opinion

Make sure the condensor fan by the compressor is running, and that the evap fan in the freezer is spinning also... Ed is right, freezer should be near 0 degrees no matter where the controls are set.
