Kenmore side by side 106.55542400 freezer problem

My Kenmore side by side is acting up.  I moved to our new house and after plugging it in the ice maker wasn't working.  went to this site and found a post saying that most of the problems are related to the unit being level. I made the adjustment and we got ice again.  However, after several days I noticed that the fridge and the freezer were a little warm(low end).  After doing a hard reset(unplugging the unit and waiting 10 min) the unit started the freeze cycle.  Tempurature dropped in both boxes. I adjusted the control dial in 1/2 increments and waited.  Temp went back to low end of the warm gauge.  My guess is that the thermistor might be defective thus not telling the system to maintain 0 degrees in the freezer and 38 in the fridge.  I sure could use some help in this area.  please advise

Sounds like it could be an intermittent cold control issue. Next time it is warming up see if it is running, if not give the control knob a whack and see if it starts running. Part number: 2198202
