Hello

I bought a bosch kad62s51 in not working condition in hope i can repair it and replace my old one. The fridge was working as it should the display is running fine all fans are spinning and the compressor is running but no lines on the compressor were getting hot or cold. It had gas inside the sistem and my asuption was that the compressor had a broken valve and was not making any compresson.

I called a local repair guy to check it out he let the gas out an filled it again, now the compressor was running wery slowly (at that time we dident know that the compressor was a variable capacity compressor) he cut the exhaust pipe of the compressor and sad that it wasn't maiking compresson. He connected it directly  to mains and burned out compressor.

I did some research and found out that the compressor gets 4-6v signal from the main board and how to check if the signal is present.

My compressor is now disconnected and there is no gas in the sistem, when i plug in the fridge an mesure the signal voltage I get 2.5 - 2.6volts.

My question is, dose the frige have a gas pressure sensor and won't send a start signal to compressor?  How to check if the mainboard is ok before ordering a new compressor. I say again the compressor was running when I got the fridge but not colling.

What else cold be the problem it not colling?

The compressor is embraco vegz 11c.

Thanks to all willing to help

Would be cheaper to buy a new refrigerator...

The unit prise was 3000euro new, I bought it for 200euro,  new motor will cost aroun 150euro, to fill it up with gas is around 50euro. So I think is worth trying to repair it.

It might be cheaper for you to repair it. But are you sure that other problems wouldn't come up after you run the thing for a while?

No I can't be sure. That goes for all used alliances and people still en up repairing them at least in my country.
