Good afternoon,

I have a Whirlpool direct drive washer LSQ9560PW2 that leaves clothes wet at the end of the last wash cycle.  It does this about once every 12 washes. It did it today.  I rotated the timer back to the rinse cycle(as I always do to "fix" the problem).  This time it didn't spin out the water so I tried the "FIX" again and it worked.

I feel that it needs a new clutch assembly.

What do you think?

FYI-- The machine is 10 years old.

Thank you for your time and effort.

Sincerely,

Mench

Things that cause no spin

Worn clutch

Broken lid switch

Broken motor coupling

Worn drivebell and or spin tub.

Bad motor

bad transmission

bad Timer

The machine also gets loud during spin cycle  (all the time) but 99% of the time it still spins out the water.

That's a 2004 model year (production year may be slightly more/less) so closer to 15 years than 10.

By pass the lid switch. What do you have to loose?

there should be a hesitation after pumping out the rinse water to let the transmission engage into  spin  ,   if it doesn't , you have a timer going bad.  tricky to catch,   if thats not the deal you need a clutch

Possible Drive Block stripped-out.

Another thing to check (on early 2000s models)...

Oil leak from transmission.
