Fridge was bought in late 2012 from GE.  Apparently had a power outage last night, as microwave clock was flashing this morning.  Refrigerator is dead.  Is there anything I can do to try to jump start this thing?

First step is to verify power at outlet.

Thank you, Sensei..  Yes, outlet checks out okay with voltmeter and other devices plugged into it.

We need to keep following the power. Are you comfortable removing circuit board cover and taking a live voltage reading?

On main board connector labeled J15. Pins 1 and 2 should be a white wire and red wire. Measure voltage should be 120VAC. If not, you need new board.

That appears to be the problem...no voltage present on J15.  Is replacing the board a DIYer project, or should I leave that for the Pros?

It's pretty straight forward. most are designed so that connectors can only fit in one place.  If you've ever plugged in RAM to a PC motherboard you can change a main board. Jut follow all the power and ESD precautions.
