My GE washer model # GFWH1400D0WW does not completely dispense the fabric softener.  When the cycle is complete there is still fabric softener in the dispenser.  We have removed and cleaned the dispenser tray and it still doesn't work properly.

You gotta expect some to still be in there now. Are you diluting it? If not you should be.

I am not sure.  Mrs Wolverine usually handles that part!  However, the washer when it was new did a better job of flushing the fabric softener out.  There was clear water left in the dispenser at the end of the cycle.

I checked and there is no room in the dispenser to dilute the fabric softener.  When you fill the recommended amount it comes up to the "Max" line in the dispenser.  The washer is supposed to add water to flush the softener out and onto the clothes in the drum.  It appears that there is no longer the same amount of water being added since there seems to be undiluted fabric softener left in the dispenser.  Is there a way to adjust this or is there a part that needs to be replaced?

Could the dispenser actuator be the problem?

@Wolverine From the mini manual...

Check for obstruction in dispenser mechanism and linkages.  • Check electrical connections at dispenser motor feedback switch and in the harness. • Check electrical connections of water valves in the harness. IF ABOVE STEPS DO NOT CLEAR THE PROBLEM: • Replace dispenser motor assembly.

Thanks!  I will check those things and hopefully avoid having to replace the motor.
