Several loads came out damp.  Now the dryer will not heat up at all.  No error code came up normally.

I ran a diagnostic and F-1 came up immediately. I read there can be several causes.

Is the most common the thermistor and thermal cut off?

Thanks

You may have more than 1 problem, F-1 is a machine control failure.  There should be a tech sheet in the dryer somewhere, it will tell the error codes and what to check.

Update. I opened her up and clean out all the lint and junk collected int eh blower housing.  Started right up.  But when I opened to put the lint collector back the ignitor glowed but would not relight.  So I powered off and back on.  Same issue, the ignitor glowed, but didn't ignite.  I am guessing that is the thermistor?  Because it is intermittent.

Make sure the gas is turn on. Most likely suspect is the gas valve coils. Easy fix to replace just the coils.

Thanks Vance.  So I figured maybe I should follow your advice and take out the spec sheet.  And I better actually start testing stuff.   The thermistor and breaker all good.  The gas valve coils resistance seems spot on, 2 pronged one read 1300 and the 3 pronged one read 1300 and 600.

Then I check the spec sheet and F-01 is primary control failure and states to replace machine control electronics.
Should I just replace it?  $130 for the control panel.

Thanks

You can try and take the board out of the case and see if there are burnt joints. Make sure you are talking the same part... control panel and control board are two different parts. Part number: AP6016286

If the ignite is glowing it's unlikely the board, the coils can test good when cold but fail when heated up

F1 error has always been a bad board for me. But I agree ignitor likely wouldn’t glow with bad board.

Something isn’t adding up

Sounds like I should put new coils in.  Ill try that.  A new board did not clear the F1 code.  Which only shows up in diagnostic mode, it will continue to try to ignite without an error code.

Anyone like to guess as why I am getting the F1 code?  If it is working with new coils, can I assume to ignore the F1 until I have additional problems?

Thanks

Does the f1 come up in a regular cycle or just diagnosis mode, if not in a regular cycle ignore, f1 codes on the boards are always an issue with motor relay nothing to do with heating
