Tried to search the forum and could find nothing.  Two years old Samsung Chef Collection NX58H9950WS/AA  the baking burner is erratic . Several times the gas switch would not open, I could see the igniter glowing but no flame. First thought was the igniter was bad from past experience with a Maytag, but in that case the burner just stopped working. Did some test last night, set it to 350 and it heated up no problem, went to 500 again no problem, let it cool and set it again to 350 all is fine. The question is has anyone experienced this with this stove before and what should I test / look for.

Thanks,

GJM

If ia hot surface igniter so you'll need a meter with an amperage clamp to measure the current draw from the igniter. The gas safety valve is looking for an amperage threshold to be crossed, usually in the 3.2-3.6 amp range. If the amp draw is weak, the igniter will glow but the safety valve will have issues opening fully and can give you intermittent issues.
