Hi - appreciate anyone who can help with this.

I have a GE JKP45BOW2BB double wall oven, with power issues.   It's been like this since we bought our house (we got a credit since it was bad).   The initial symptoms, for the first year or so, were the display panel being extremely dim (but still functioning) and temperature controls that didn't seem to be quite right - e.g. it would often burn the food.   (My wife knows more about the details that I; she's a good cook and hasn't had issues with other ovens).

We learned to live with it, figuring to eventually replace it in a few years when we re-do the kitchen.  However recently it's started occasionally failing completely - where the power to both units turns off for a while, and then comes back on.   Usually it comes back on with in a few minutes, but last week it went out for a longer time.

I'm somewhat comfortable dealing with power issues, including taking the unit out if need be.   I'm guessing this could be something difficult to fix, but figured I'd give it a shot.

Anyone with any thoughts?   Perhaps a particular loose connection, or bad component that might be suspect?

Thanks.

Here's a pic, where the dim display can be seen:

I would verify correct voltage coming into the unit and rule out a bad or failing breaker. Otherwise you're likely looking at a control board issue. This unit doesn't have many parts available anymore, including the control/clock board. http://fixyourboard.com/boards/WB27K5318.html.  I'm not affiliated with this company but I've used this company once to repair an obsolete KitchenAid touchpad for a wall oven/microwave combo and they do good work. Verify your power coming in first though.
