WT5680HVA uB error (unbalanced), can't find shocks, no longer available?

This 5 year old washer, LG WT5680HVA, has pretty much been a headache since we got it. About a year ago, we had this problem, but I found a shock had come unclipped on the tub. Fixed that and it was ok. Last night, it had an OE error (can't drain), but I found a clog in the hose just before the pump. Now with it all back together, I'm getting the uB error again. Machine is perfectly level. Upon inspection, I think the left front shock is worn out. It has very little, if any, dampening ability, where the other 3 feel firm. But looking up the part, LG # AGM74269801, it appears it's not easily found and some sites list it as NLA. I sure hope not! I recall last year looking for it and finding them, and as a 4 pack kit to replace them all. Any idea on where I can get them? The tub does shake a bit more than I recall, so I would imagine this is the issue, unless there's some other troubleshooting I should try first.

Thanks for any help or tips.

Just to add a bit more to my own thread, I figured out that the rod assembly kit comes with all 4 rods, and 4 shocks. I went ahead and ordered that, so I will swap them out. But as a test, I removed all clothes, and even with an empty tub, the machine rub is definitely out of balance when trying to spin. It's going fully from side to side, resulting in the UE error. So certainly this isn't any type of software or control board issue, it's mechanical I'd say. Hoping the new rods and shocks solve it. I also checked the nut on the bottom of the machine, and it was tight too (just in case).

Hello Steve,

I hope this message finds it way to you.
I (unfortunately) have the same LG washer and I’m also experiencing the same problem with it shaking while spinning. I replaced the clutch assembly last year because the bearing was stripped. It seemed to be as good as new but now im having this issue which I think is tied to the shock absorbers. IM having difficulty replacement parts. I was curious where you found the 4 pack kit with the shock absorbers and rods? Thanks for your help.

I was able to buy it on Amazon. Before you do though, make sure you don’t have something caught between the stainless wash tub and outer plastic tub. I found a smaLo sock in mine and I think that was actually the problem. The only way to know is to remove the upper ring around the stainless tub and carefully look all around in between. I bet you found something. A sock, a small pair of underwear etc

good luck.
