MVWC450XW0 Maytag Centennial Won't Spin/Agitate

Hello all!

I have a Maytag Centennial washer MVWC450XW0 that refuses to spin. It's giving an error code of F7E1. I've replaced the shift assembly motor which did not resolve the issue. The green LED on the control board is lit up. I've been following the troubleshooting tips in the manual starting at the Test 3a Drive System - Shifter section.

The basket turns freely, all connections are tight, the resistance is 2.5k and 120AC is present on the J16-1, J16-2 pins.

I do have a question how best to connect the probes to the control board while operating the diagnostic mode as suggest in step 9 of the drive system test. I have an Ideal 61-324 multimeter.

Any wisdom on how to proceed would be appreciated. The tests seem to be passing, and on agitate the basket will twitch very slightly a couple times and I can hear the motor hum but there's no motion. I'm considering replacing the clutch as that's a fairly inexpensive fix as well but am hopeful some more experienced individuals might offer some insight on where to go next.

Thank you in advance!

Possible bad motor capacitor, (relatively common problem on these).
