A/C Drain Line Blow Out - Jones Valve

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a clogged A/C condensation line with a Jones valve installed like this one - https://www.amazon.com/Supco-JV1B-Jones-Valve-Condensate/dp/B01LYXYNIO/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=jones+valve&qid=1566916582&s=gateway&sr=8-1#feature-bullets-btf

I cannot find a blow-out gun that uses the C02 cartridges and connects to the 1/4 Schrader valve. There are many I see that have a rubber gasket, but the entire point of the Jones valve is to connect to the schrader valve.

Can someone point me to the right place?

Thanks!

Why don't you just go to the end of the pipe where the water drains from the condensate pipe and run water under pressure up it from a garden hose for a few seconds at a time until you clear it out? I can not see you getting any reasonable pressure vs volume from that schrader valve that would actually clean or clear it.

Be very careful with putting pressure through those lines.  About 13 years ago we had a tech who used pressure to try and clear a clogged line that ran from the evaprator to the outside.  He actually blew the line apart inside the wall and it leaked and caused about 4000.00 in damaged.  The post By David suggesting water pressure is a better idea.   Remember 5 extra minutes to work smart and safely saves hours of anger and issues later.

I think you you remove the valve core you should be able to use the Gallo Gun, then reinstall the valve core when done.
