LG Door-in-door dispenser light not working

Recommended Posts

I have an LG french, door-in-door refrigerator, (model # LFX31945ST/02 manufactured in July of 2012.  On the door dispenser it has a light that comes on when you dispense ice or water.  The light illuminates where you place your cup. You can also turn the light on manually if you wanted to use it as a night light.  This light has stopped working.  The dispenser works fine, both ice and water, but the light does not come on automatically when the dispenser is in use or when the light is selected. The little light bulb indicator on the touch screen panel works. But the actual light that is located in the dispenser does not.

I checked the user manual and there is no information on how to replace the "bulb".  I cannot find a schematic to give me an idea of how to fix it.  Would appreciate any information.

On the explode parts view of dispenser on a few web sites, item 501d is a led board.  Probably what your looking for as the light source.  Notice all the rest of the lights are led types.
