Kenmore Elite Dishwater (665.14743N510) not fully draining

Recommended Posts

This Kenmore dishwasher is about three years old and has been far more problematic than the last Kenmore dishwasher I owned, both made by Fridgidaire.

Anyway, already replaced were the sump, diverter motor, and circulation pump. Now, the dishwasher doesn't drain fully at the end of a wash cycle. This had been happening infrequently (one in every 20 washes) but seems to have increased in frequency. If I start a rinse cycle, the first thing the dishwasher does is drain all the remaining water, leading me to believe that there is not a blockage and, possibly, not an issue with the drain pump. Running just a rinse seems to complete just fine, draining all the water.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would check the drain hose for any kind of restriction. It may not be visible through the hose. According to the parts breakdown, this model is built by Whirlpool, or at least uses Whirlpool parts. I would check the hose for restrictions and check the drain pump to ensure that there aren't any broken vanes on the impeller. These don't have a water level sensor to inform the drain pump so the drain pump runs strictly on a set amount of run time.

In many cases the dishwasher will stop draining or draining fully due to a clogged drainage hoses or due to an object caught in the draining pump. There are some cases when the draining pump is faulty and needs to be replaced. We have assembled the top issues to check for a dishwasher that does not drain.  I found this info here:

Check it out for more info on your dishwasher issue.  Good luck.
