Maytag LAT9416AAE Agitator shaft...

So....my agitator shaft keeps popping out....I used this web article ... http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/repair-Maytag-washer.html   to help............I figure it's not the metal clip in the transmission  because it popped off........ and so now I'm thinking it's the plastic agitator collar......(part number 22002340)....

but..how the heck does that thing hold the agitator shaft in?...there's no collar on the agitator shaft at all........does someone have a nice pic I can look at?

You are right, it will be the white snap on coller , you will have to remove the inner tub and upper part of the tub seal to snap the new one on. Also you will have to make sure no water has got into the transmission. Those are a great washer that some boneheaded engineers started cheapening up parts on. They all used to have the metal clip in the transmission, the new replacement transmissions went back to that, as did a replacement shaft and tub seal
