Just a quick question on a problem free machine. What makes the wash plate agitate and move free of the basket? Like in calibration mode, the wash plate spins clock wise and counter clock wise real fast, then you hear the gear shifter click and both wash plate and basket lock in and spin together,  How does that mechanism actually work ? Specifically part no, W10528947

Thanks

Drive pulley has two sets of teeth, the cam above it is raised and lowered by the shifter and that engages either the splines on the inner part of the pulley or both sets, driving wash plate and basket. These are crappy machines and well worth getting to know.  For the most part easy to work on. Shifters are super common.
