I have checked the obvious,  thermal cutoff on the element shroud, door switch, belt switch. Panel lights up, push start and you can hear the relays on control board click, but no go. I looked for a thermal fuse in the parts breakdown, but it doesn’t seem to have one. This dryer has the dispenser drawer with the container that you fill with water for steam cycle( just thought I would throw that in for identification purposes). What do you think?

Verify 220V at wall outlet.

Inspect pigtail plug connection at rear of dryer (loose/burnt).

Try pressing the Start Button at 12...3...6...9 locations (broken button).

Verify *both* springs are still mounted on the Motor Centrifugal Switch.

I was doing some internet research and one of the things it said to do was hard reset. This consists of unplugging the machine, and then to push the power button for 5 seconds, and then pushing the start button for 5 seconds. Then to plug the unit back in and power it up. It said you could just turn the circuit breaker off, but it’s probably better to unplug it due to electrical bleed through. My understanding is that the control board is locked and needs all electrical current to bleed off and allowing the board to truly reset. I did this to an LG before with no luck. Ended up changing the board. That was successful.

Never had to reset on any LG dryer.

More than a few with a broken spring mount on the motor.

Well I checked the motor switch springs (They were good)and while I had my head there I looked back at the blower and noticed a thermal fuse(listed in parts breakdown as a thermostat) right next to the sensor, it was open. Replaced it and off it went. That saved a lot of money. It’s too bad that part breakdown don’t say in detail that this is not really a thermostat per say but a fuse. I would have looked there first had the parts diagram identified it as such. Thanks for your input john63. You got my head in there to notice what I found.
