247 clicking of dryer timer ??????

it advances to the end of the dry clycle  but even when the dry is complete it continues to click 247.  Takes a couple run cycles to heat a load of clothes and I've troubleshooted all the electrical, and checked for air blockages/ good flow in the exhaust, no lint buildup or kinked outlet tube.  Any idea what the deal is with the clicking all the time timer and how to end that-------------can I presume since it advances that it can not be a contributor to the slow dry
