WDF520PADW0 fills for a couple minutes then nothing

When I start a cycle, any cycle, something is happening for just under 1 minute.  When that "something" stops, I can hear water filling.  That lasts until about 2 minutes after the cycle started.  Then nothing happens (no sound at all).  When I look inside, there is water up to just below the heater.  If I then close the door and enter "cancel" the water pumps out.

Is there a self diagnostic available for this model?  If so, how do I initiate that and how do I read/interpret the codes?  This unit is about 5 years old, but is in a "winter home" so only used about 4-5 months a year.

You need to pull the dishwasher out and put a meter on the wash pump motor connection.  Basically the washer fills, washes then drains and does this over and over until it is done. After a fill it will wash. If you see 120VAC to the wash pump, you have a bad pump motor.  If you have power try tapping the motor it may start running. This Isn't a fix. These pumps go bad.

David,

Thanks for your reply.  Pulled it out and as I was checking around I pulled the connector off the pump motor.  As I did that I thought there wasn't much resistance.  Pushed the connector back on firmly and problem is corrected.  Thanks again.  Dave

If it does it again, you will need to replace the pump.
