Replaced main board in GSH22JSTESS and now refrigerator freezing fresh food.

Hi,

Would appreciate some insight.

I have a GSH22JSTESS refrigerator, S/N: SM210979.

Recently, it stopped cooling/freezing.

Lights were working.

I was able to hear a relay clicking, but nothing would engage - even after unplugging and waiting up to 30 minutes.

So I ordered a replacement board, WR55X10942 - which was recommended by several online retailers.

After replacing the board, the refrigerator turned on and everything works...

except that now the refrigerator side is too cold - freezing just about everything.

On the instructions, there is mention of certain models (based on serial number) needing the wire coming into pin 2 on the J1 connector cut.
Since my serial number doesn't meet those criteria, I did not cut anything. The pins on my J1 don't match the diagram in instructions anyway.

Does anyone have advice on what to do next?

~Matt

Check your temperature sensors. You can check them from the connectors at the main board. Have you found the tech sheet/mini manual for the refrigerator? It's very likely that one or more of your temperature sensors are out of spec. If one tests out of spec you may as well replace them all, they're generally cheap enough

Board should have come with instructions. After checking the thermistors. Sometimes you have to modify the wiring to the thermistors even when not listed. The 942 board is universal replacement for a lot of boards.
