Frigidaire Oven Intermittent Temperature Issues

Recommended Posts

Posted

Have an intermittent temperature issue with the oven.

Model: FPEH3077RFC

Occasionally, the oven will pre-heat and say it is at the correct temperature, but does not get up to temp.  We have also seen it preheat appropriately, and then not hold the temp.

Infuriating part is that is seems to be very intermittent.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot greatly appreciated!

How are you measuring the temperature; how do you know it's not up to temp?

At first, it was feel.  You could tell when set at 425 that the over was only in the 300's.

Purchased an in-oven analog thermometer...and all was well....until it happened again today.  Temp was supposed to be 425 (maybe 450) and ended up around 300/325 half-way through the meal being cooked.

Would a thermostat swap at the same time make sense or just the sensor?

If you have a thermometer that works, heat the oven up to 450F (on your thermometer), disconnect the power and check the sensor resistance. You should have 1852 Ohms.

If the sensor resistance is correct, it's a bad board.

If the resistance is wrong, it's a bad sensor.

How do I measure the resistance on the sensor? Is there an access to the connector from the back side of the oven?

You can check it where it plugs into the wiring harness, or on J6 pins 3&4 on the board.

It should be accessible from the rear.
