Miele Washer W1930 leaks and 'check water inlet' flashing

Miele W1930 flashes the 'check water inlet' light early in the cycle, then stops flashing. Towards the end of the cycle the washer leaks under the door, left side. 2 Separate problems maybe? Or are they related?
