Selecting a New Dryer HELP!

Recommended Posts

Thank you all for validating that my dryer has officially given up the ghost after loosing her bearing shaft and having a cracked drum. There are only a few dryers available locally an I feel lost in trying to select one. from a longevity and least pain in my side stand point, which would you recommend?

We are a family of five. Use cloth everything (including diapers) so need a reliable dryer. Only needs heat adjustment as an upgrade.

Here is what is available:

Kenmore 72332 7.0 cu. ft. Gas Dryer $629

Hotpoint® 6.2 cu. ft. Capacity aluminized alloy Gas Dryer $529

Amana 6.5 cu. ft. gas Dryer with Wrinkle Prevent Option White $484

Thank You in advance for any advise you can give. I also welcome any information you might have regarding a completely different option if needed!

Top one is good choice. Go to any big box store and get it for $575 or less. It’s a Whirlpool 29 inch gas dryer

The Amana is good for rentals, For home I like SpeedQueen. Their more money but they have the best warranty out there by far. Very easy and straight to work on. I refer to them as the machines that just keep on running.

Thank you! Unfortunately the biggest box store we have is walmart 😑. I have a sears hometown (tiny and they order it all in) and a few private appliance stores. Maybe I will see if they will price match.

The only speed queen we have nearby is coin operated 😄.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck in your search.

I agree the top one would be a decent choice. Kenmore/Whirlpool are good units.
