Seeking responses for Appliance Parts survey for MBA Student's Research Project

Hi - I'm an MBA student conducting market research for a class research project on the rise of generic aftermarket appliance parts, and I'm seeking responses for a short 10-question survey. Link below. You will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card for your time. Thank you in advance.

It's an interesting survey if you're just trying to assess consumer preferences, however isn't particularly useful for servicers.

Many OEM parts are priced specifically to discourage repair, so the choice is "use the non-OEM part or replace the appliance".

To confuse things even more, some non-OEM parts are actually better than the original OEM parts, while others are complete garbage. Still others are sometimes good or bad depending on exactly who the reseller is buying the parts from. In other cases the OEM parts are uniformly terrible, so the consumer may pay actually pay more for the privilege of getting a worse repair.

The only thing you can really tell from your survey is how effective marketing and brand name recognition is in getting customers to buy the more expensive parts.

A consumer, who might only ever have to buy a particular replacement part once, has nothing to base their decision on, unless they're using a site like Amazon that gives relatively unbiased buyer reviews.

rise of generic aftermarket appliance parts,

Your premise is flawed. Aftermarket parts used to be much more common and much more standard.

I agree with what Terry said above. I do think the average DIYER is 90% of the time going to buy the cheapest part they can find which is usually always the aftermarket part.
