Washer is leaking from the bottom

Hi, I’m new to the community.

I have an old GE WWP2000SAXWH, space saver washer that has been leaking for a while, but not leaking very much. Lately, the leak has become worse, and I’ve never worked on a washer before. Don’t get me wrong, I have good repair skills, I’ve just never worked on a washer.

I know this washer is old, which means it’s probably built better, and worth fixing to me.

I figured the problem is the pump, or a seal, but I have not looked at it yet.

Im about to go into unfamiliar territory...

Any input from someone who’s been there, would be appreciated.

That's a Whirlpool washer. Chances are good it's the pump leaking and worth repair. Just look around online, I'm almost certain you can find video on how to remove the cabinet and replace the pump. Easy repair.

Leaks can be deceiving. What appears to be from bottom can sometimes originate at the top.

First step is determining if it leaks during fill or drain, or mid cycle.

Close examination is only way to locate source.

I’m pretty sure it’s leaking during the fill cycle.

I’d start at inlet valves and work through dispenser.
