GE Profile PFSS2MJXASS Refrigerator Not Cooling (Turbo Cool Works)

My GE Profile PFSS2MJXASS refrigerator is not cooling properly.  Inside temperature was ~50F.

The freezer seems to be working ok.

I have cleaned out the dust from the back (cardboard panel removed) and front.

If I turn on Turbo Cool I get ~22F coming out of the vent at the top rear of the fridge.  If I turn off Turbo Cool it will stay cool for a short time (couple hours at most) and then start to creep back up to 40-50.

The temperature readings on the front panel seem consistent with what I'm reading with a remote temperature probe thermometer so it seems like the temperature sensors are working ok.

In the past 10 years or so, I've replace the compressor starter relay as well as the temp sensors on this.

Any thoughts on why it would work with Turbo Cool but not on its own?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Sean

We always start by checking for errors and testing the thermistors.

Thermistors tell the control what the cabinet temperatures are which controls when the compressor runs to cool the unit.

A bad thermistor could be your problem. Turbo cool likely bypasses thermistor info and forces the compressor on.

Ok.  I tested the thermistors at the control board connector (disconnected)

Refrigerator (in ice water) = 14.88k

Freezer = 28.87

Evap = 25.25

Thanks for the reply.  I ordered new ones yesterday.  Should have them by the end of the week.  I will start with the FF one, which I replaced a few years back.

I have a remote thermometer in the fridge now, and the control panel temp is around 10 deg colder than the thermometer reading.  Control panel hasn't shown above 35F for 24 hours every time I check.  Once I get the FF done and let it run for 24 hours, I'll re-check them all with the meter.

Thanks again for your help.

For as cheap as they are I’d replace them all. The one on evaporator especially its living in the harshest environment and are most likely to fail.
