Hoping I can get some help here please.  I have a Samsung 4 door model RF32FMQDBSR that has stopped making ice.  It does not have the typical freezing up issue that most Samsungs do.  Instead I have the opposite where the ice was melting and not just does not make ice at all.  I replaced the ice tray and auger already which includes the fan and temperature sensor in the ICE compartment.  I here the fan running after I replaced the auger.  I can reset the ice tray and the assembly that pushes out the ice after it is frozen makes a full rotation and water fills the tray.    I sealed the ice compartment as it is in the upper left of the refrigerator compartment  so that no air is leaking through the refrigerator into the ice compartment.  There was a gap for sure and I sealed with a silicon.  Looks good now.  Ice is still not freezing not even a little.   When you remove the ice tray there is a heater element  used for defrosting.  When I first removed all the parts originally when my problem started they had a little ice around it even though my ice in the tray was melting.  So from the front panel I put the code in to FD (Force defrost) and within seconds the ice melted away so I could safely remove the ice tray.   I took it out of FD mode and now with all the new parts and ever since then I can not get any freezing or frost build up on that part.  It seems to me that this is the part (the defrost element) that would also help freeze the ice???  If so it is not working.   Also I understand the fans job is to suck in cold air from the lower freeze compartment to make the ice compartment cold.  Im guessing it is triggered by the thermostat sensor that is mounted and included with my new auger assembly.  Freezer and refrigerator compartments are working and I dont think the ice compartment has any special compressors.

Any suggestion on what I can check next?  Im thinking of replacing the control board next if I can't narrow this down.  Thanks for any help.

Your ice maker should be a direct cool style. A loop of refrigerant tubing is sandwiched in the middle of the ice maker.  Usually to replace the auger assembly the ice maker need to be removed first, then the auger assembly.  The ice maker has a heater imbedded in the mold for defrost. The silver tube that attaches to the back wall is for cooling. The ice maker has a thermistor  in the mold for the board to know when it is cold enough to start harvest.  The fan on the auger assembly just moves air around the ice compartment to keep ice from melting.

Check for error codes, freezer and control lock pushed at the same time for 10 seconds.

Vance thank you for the reply and confirming what part is the chiller and heater.  I am familiar with the loop in the ice tray as well.   All of that was replaced and I did remove the ice maker first by dropping the jaw down so I could un-sandwitched the cooling tube.  Confident that was all done right and then the auger assembly slide out as well and was also replaced.

I do not have a control lock button I do have a child lock button and I tried pushing both at the same time for longer than 10 seconds but nothing happened.  I am familiar with pushing the coolselect and fridge buttons at the same time to do things like Force Freeze and Force Defrost and a few other options but thats all I am aware of.  I will google how to look for codes on my model.

Assuming all the parts I put in are new what would cause the cooler loop to not chill if the thermistor, and other parts I replaced are working?

I'm confident it was all done correctly.  One screw to drop the jaw of the ice tray after a defrost, one screw covering the wire connectors and then slides right out over the cooling coil thing.  I was careful not to bend that part up or puncture it.  Any suggestions on what to look for next please?

If that cooling loop isn’t frosting I suggest calling a technician that can do sealed system work.

The loop for the ice maker is part freezer sealed system, so anytime that compressor runs there should be cooling for ice maker.  You indicated the fan for the auger runs. There should some cooling in the ice room.

The freeze compartment in the bottom door is working fine.  I have a frozen ice pack in the for example and all the food in there is frozen.  The ice machine stopped about a month or more ago.  So if the loop is part of a sealed system I would expect it is still sealed.  The water that fills the ice tray is very cold just not cold enough to freeze.  I like Pepsi to by the way, just like mine with ice.  lol.
