 8 hour 21 minute timer advances into a defrost but voltage is not present at the defrost bimetal/heater circuit ,the evaporator temp is -14 , When i manually turn the timer into the defrost mode the heater circuit starts working pulling 4.5 amps measuring 120 volts AC , Both timer and defrost thermostat have recently been replaced whith in the last 30 days, NO schematic diagram .Replacement timer #ERW10822278,

No tech sheet comes up for this at servicemattters. Was timer hook up right would be my question as it has a wire that can go on terminal 1 or 2.

This is what you can use to figure that out. This was the old part number ,but instructions does apply. Here!

Thanks for all the help! ,  the black wire was on the wrong terminal of the replacement  timer, its working ok now 😎

Honestly I use that timer all the time and never bother to read the instructions or check a wiring diagram. Just snap apart the old timer and see which terminal (of the 3 together) is supplying power (or neutral, don’t care which) to the timer motor. That’s where your little black wire goes
