Maytag MDB7749SBB2 Dishwasher chopper clogged again

Maytag dishwasher wasn't cleaning a couple months ago.  I found a clogged chopper, cleaned it out, congratulated myself for a job well done.  A couple weeks later, same thing happens.  When this happened again, I wondered if the chopper blades had dulled, and replaced the chopper.  But that didn't help the problem.  The chopper gets clogged with what looks like hair, fat, film, general gunk every 2-3 weeks.  Any ideas?

I’d check to ensure drain line and pump are completely clear.

I’d Also recommend skinning your animals before eating them.

Where does hair from in a dishwasher???

Thank you, Sensei, I'll check that out.

I've got kids, dogs, and cats.  I ask myself on a daily basis, "Where does all this hair come from?"  😉

Make your your water is hot enough.

I'm guessing that it isn't hot enough because if it was, all that would be down the drain. Also make sure you use enough detergent.

Check the water temp in the bottom of the DW about half way through a cycle. If it's not really hot, you may have an issue with the heater or the temperature sensor.

Couple of things to check. First is the chopper blade to shaft area, the shaft is plastic and the metal blade sometimes the shaft gets worn. The shaft spins, but the blade doesn't.  Second is the shaft end to motor area. The hub on the motor get worn and won't drive the shaft. Since you have replaced the chopper look at motor shaft first.

I drug it out today and found a gunk plug in the drain hose, right where the pump motor lets out into it.  I cleaned it out--Fingers crossed!
