I replaced the diverter valve with no result.  In the diagnostic mode for the drain pump nothing drains and water enters from the right side of washer just above the basket.  What's next please.  I joined for live help. How do I make contact outside of using the forum?

Thanks

Did you put the diverter valve in backwards? It is possible. This machine operates by filling with water and then recirculating it via the drain pump and the diverter valve. The default position for the diverter valve is to drain, it must be activated by the ctrl bd for it to recirc..

Did you make sure the drain outlet hose is not blocked by something? Blow through it when you disconnect it from the div valve.

See this post for more on the subject.

I'm certain the diverter valve is in correctly.  Thought I had it fixed.  I actually got  the machine to go into a locked lid spin on the first rinse cycle, but then it would not drain in the second cycle.  I blew through the hose, took the pump out, took the hose from the pump loose and checked it.  I wondered if having the machine tilted to work on, and then setting it back upright may have temporarily dislodged some obstruction and then it lodged again?  Can something get between the basket and the outlet hose intake?  I have the service manual on how to remove the basket, but unless it's a possibility, I don't want to tackle that.  Thanks for the reply

Can you see the pump turn in diagnostic mode when you press the "Regular" button? Does the unit recirculate in diagnostic mode when you press the "Delicate" button?

It is possible to have the pump's intake blocked but you can check this by removing the pump from the bottom. Bail or suck the water out or be prepared for a shower.

The pump turns in diagnostic mode when you press regular and the washer behaves exactly as it does when operating a the rinse cycle:  water comes in at the top right of the washer basket.  When you push delicate in diagnostic mode nothing happens.

If it starts off in diagnostic mode and you press "Regular" it should pump out. It sounds like it is recirculating. That is not water entering the machine but just being pumped around. Either the div valve is on backwards, stuck partially open or the outlet hose is blocked.

Take off the div valve and check it to make sure you didn't get any more debris inside it after you installed it.

That's what I thought.  I'll do the diverter valve again later tonight and see if that helps.  Thanks. I'll post after I get it done.

It is also possible the original diverter took out the main controller which maybe powering the diverter all the time that power is on to the machine thus leaving the diverter permanently in the recycle position.
