Hi all,

Earlier this week, the dishwasher stopped dissolving the detergent tab. The detergent tab door was open, but the tab wasn't dissolved. For the few loads prior, it had been doing a terrible job. I put a glass facing up in the upper and lower trays, ran a cycle, and there was no water in either at the end.

Checked Float switch and it was moving freely, I heard a click when moving it up and down. When I opened the door at the end of the cycle, it was humid and my eyeglasses fogged up. But it sure didn't look like there had been water sitting in there.

Thought it may be the intake valve.

Bought and installed a new one just now. The old one was pretty gunky at the filter. We have very hard water.

Sadly, there's no improvement. It looks like it is filled with water now, which I think is better than before, but it's just humming right after I shut the door to check on it, or doing nothing. We're 30 minutes into a 75 minute cycle, and the water is just sitting there.

Anything come to mind for next steps? It just seems like it isn't doing anything.

Thank you, Samurai Masters!

Update. About five minutes ago, there was a click and the soap dispenser is now popped open, assuming that was the click. Water still just standing that. Fine and ultra fine filters are clean, too. Forgot to mention.

With 26 minutes to go in the load, there was a burst of activity, sound of water moving around. Then it stopped. Water still just sitting then. No water has come from the top at all, as the bowl I put in the top is still empty.

Somehow, time reversed and it became 27 minutes to go five minutes after I opened it at 26 minutes to go. It fired up and drained water I could see flowing out through the clear drain tube. Did not open door to check this time.

At 18 minutes to go, it sounded like new water coming in with another burst of activity.

At 2 minutes to go another vague burst of activity.

End of cycle, all water is drained. Dish tab barely soggy and still in container, with detergent door open.
